PE & Sports Premium

At Red Barn Primary School, we are committed to providing our pupils with a well-rounded education that nurtures their physical, mental, and social development. We  receive the government's Sports Premium funding, which allows us to enhance our sports and physical activity offerings and support our pupils in leading healthy, active lifestyles.

We have achieved the Silver Kite Mark for our commitment to high quality PE Provision.

The Objectives of the Sports Premium

The Sports Premium funding has four key objectives:

  • To engage all pupils in regular physical activity, promoting their overall health and well-being
  • To raise the profile of PE and sport across the school, inspiring our pupils to develop a love of physical activity
  • To increase the confidence, knowledge, and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  • To provide a broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  • To increase participation in competitive sports

How We Use the Sports Premium

At Red Barn Primary, we carefully plan how to use our Sports Premium funding to maximise the impact on our pupils. Our most recent report outlines how we have allocated the funds, including:

  • Providing high-quality, specialist coaching in a variety of sports, such as football, basketball, and gymnastics
  • Investing in new sports equipment and resources to enhance our PE lessons Organising inter-school competitions and tournaments to give our pupils the opportunity to compete against their peers
  • Offering a comprehensive swimming programme to ensure all  pupils have the opportunity to learn to swim confidently and proficiently
